West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has alleged that the BJP and CPI(M) are working to destroy the state’s education system following the Supreme Court’s verdict on SSC recruitments. She questioned why teachers in Bengal lost their jobs while a sitting judge, allegedly found with crores of rupees, was only transferred. "Why were Bengal’s teachers not given the option of transfer instead of dismissal?" she asked. She termed the verdict "politically motivated" and accused opposition parties of targeting Bengal unfairly.

Banerjee expressed concern over the thousands of teachers who lost their jobs, stating that the ruling impacts more than just 25,000 individuals. She reaffirmed her support for them, saying, "I stand with those who lost their jobs." She assured that the state government would process job reapplications within three months, allowing affected candidates another opportunity. She also announced her participation in the Deprived Teachers’ Association event on April 7 at the Indoor Stadium to address their concerns.

The Chief Minister further alleged that Bengal is being deliberately targeted, linking the SSC controversy to a larger political agenda. She stated, "The BJP and CPI(M) want to destroy Bengal’s education system," and claimed that the judgment is influenced by political motives. She also mentioned that deeper investigations into past job recruitments would reveal key details about appointments in various districts. Without naming anyone, she indicated that former ministers should also be scrutinized.

Banerjee raised concerns over the financial hardships of dismissed teachers, questioning how those who had taken loans and supported families would now survive. "What about teachers who took loans? How will they support their families?" she asked. She warned that if any teacher faced severe distress, responsibility would fall on the BJP and CPI(M). Meanwhile, she also announced that summer vacations for primary and high schools would begin on April 30 due to extreme heat.
